ST. CLOUD -- Plans for a new interchange at Highway 15 and 33rd Street South in St. Cloud are expected to move forward with action by the city council tonight.

St. Cloud City Engineer Steve Foss says they are asking for approval on the plans and specifications and to advertise the bids.

Foss says work on the $15.7-million interchange should begin in the spring with completion slated for late fall.

The design calls for a roundabout at each end of the bridge and roundabouts at Stearns County Road 74 on the St. Cloud side of Highway 15 and Granite View Road on the Waite Park side.

The project is being paid for primarily with grant money, state aid and half-cent sales tax dollars.
