ROSELAND TOWNSHIP -- A squad car was struck by a pickup as it was responding to another crash on Highway 71 in Roseland Township.

The incident happened shortly after 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning in Kandiyohi County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a Kandiyohi County squad car was heading north on Highway 71, near 150th Avenue, when it slowed down and moved to the east shoulder to respond to a crash in the west ditch. At the same time a pickup heading south lost control, crossed the center line and struck the squad car head on.

The driver of the squad car, 37-year-old Timothy Fischer of Willmar was not hurt in the crash. Fischer's passenger, 34-year-old Brandon Grimsley of Willmar suffered from non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup, 69-year-old Ramon Castillo of Willmar was not hurt.
