Springers Take State Baseball Title Monday

The Cold Spring Springers amateur baseball team took home the Class B state title Monday with an 8-6 win over Shakopee in Delano. Sartell won the Class C title earlier in the afternoon.

Alex Jungels hit a two-RBI double to highlight a four run second inning for the Springers that staked them to an early 4-1 lead.

Cold Spring held a 7-3 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, then weathered a late rally by Shakopee to earn the state crown.
