MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A trifecta of major sporting events plus the Minnesota State Fair will make for a busy day in the Twin Cities.

The Minnesota Twins, the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher football team are all in action at their Minneapolis stadiums on Thursday. Add to that the big draw of the Minnesota State Fair, which is in the second week of its run in nearby Falcon Heights.

The confluence could make for a challenging day and night on the road.

The Twins have a day game against the Kansas City Royals at their downtown ballpark. The Vikings have a preseason game versus the Tennessee Titans at the Metrodome at 7 p.m. The Gophers open their 2013 season against UNLV at TCF Bank Stadium at 6 p.m.
