Speed Limit to Go Up Through West Metro Corridor

ST. CLOUD -- The speed limit will be going up through a stretch of Veteran's Drive in West St. Cloud.

Improvements to the West Metro Corridor were completed last year with additional lanes and two new bridges. It prompted Stearns County to ask the Minnesota Department of Transportation to allow the speed limit to be raised to 40-miles-per-hour between Rolling Ridge Road and 54th Avenue. It's currently a 30-mile-per-hour zone.

The change will match the 40-mile-an-hour speed limit at each end of the corridor.

The signs will be changed either this afternoon or tomorrow.
