Saint Cloud Police are investigating two robberies that occurred a few minutes apart on the city’s south side early Saturday morning.

Officers were called just after 2 a.m. to 7th Avenue South and 8th Street south and met with a 22-year old man from Hibbing who said he was robbed by five black males wearing handkerchiefs over their faces. They told him to get on the ground and took personal items before leaving toward the downtown area.
The victim was not injured and a search of the area did not locate the suspects.

About 2:13 a.m. a few minutes later, a 47 year old Saint Cloud man said he was robbed at gunpoint at 614 13th Street South by 3 black males. The victim is a cab driver who had just dropped off a fare when he was approached by one man asking for a cab. The suspect signaled two others who approached and one displayed a silver colored handgun demanding cash. The three left southeast with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers were unable to locate those suspects after a search of the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Saint Cloud Police Department at 251-1200.
