ST. CLOUD -- A road reconstruction and improvement project along the east end of 33rd Street South in St. Cloud will significantly improve traffic flow once it's completed.

City Engineer Steve Foss says the project includes creating a divided four-lane roadway between County Road 75 and Southway Drive and includes a sidewalk and walking trail.

A new frontage road will also connect to a roundabout at Southway Drive.

Foss says the project is moving ahead with a completion date in October.  He says contractors have put in extra hours to deal with weather delays and challenges in moving utilities.

Foss says future plans call for 33rd Street South to become a four-lane divided roadway from County Road 75 to the new interchange at Highway 15. The timeline for those future improvements is unclear, however.
