ST. CLOUD (AP) -- A man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his mother to death in her St. Cloud home in August.

Forty-year-old Chad Pulju testified Friday he couldn't recall the specifics of his mother's death because he was drunk, but he admitted he killed her.

The plea agreement calls for him to spend no more than 25 1/2 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for early June.

Pulju was accused of inflicting at least 47 sharp-force injuries to his mother, Geraldine Bennett, in the early hours of Aug. 23. Neighbors could hear her screaming during the attack. Police arrived to find Bennett covered in blood and sitting in a chair in her screened-in porch, with Pulju standing a few feet behind her. She died at the scene.
