UNDATED - As an area of low pressure takes shape over the High Plains, strong southerly winds will bring unseasonably warmer temperatures for Friday.

The area of low pressure and an associated cold front will move into the area by Friday night, then push through from west to east on Saturday.

Rain, with possibly few thunderstorms, is expected Friday through Saturday as the system moves across the area, with rainfall totals of more than an inch possible over northwestern Minnesota.

Much more tranquil and slightly warmer conditions are expected for the start of next week.
