UNDATED - High pressure will begin to build in today behind a departing low pressure system. Breezy conditions are expected with temperatures holding nearly steady in the 40s. The high will push overhead tonight. Clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to drop into the 20s tonight.

A vigorous low pressure system will move northeast from the central plains this weekend. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will spread into central and southern Minnesota and west central Wisconsin by Saturday morning and continue through Saturday night.

There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms on Saturday over southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

So far here in the month of October we've only had a trace of rain, which is about an inch below normal for the month.  We are more than four inches below normal for September and October combined.  We haven't had any significant rain since early August.
