Some I-94 Ramps to Close in Monticello Friday Night

MONTICELLO -- Road construction in Monticello will cause some traffic delays starting overnight Friday.

It's a $17.2-million project that will rebuild all lanes, add an auxiliary lane to westbound I-94 and reconfigure ramps in the area.

Crews will close the eastbound I-94 ramps from Highway 25 in Monticello tomorrow night and direct you along Chelsea Road, to County Road 18 and then to I-94. You'll then encounter a speed reduction and narrow lanes as your directed onto temporary lanes of I-94.

The changes are part of the I-94 reconstruction project in Monticello which includes adding a new auxiliary lane to I-94 West and newly reconfigured ramps along Highway 25.

The Highway 25 ramps will be open by mid-September.
