ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud family will have to decide what to do with "Looie" the pot-bellied pig after the city council denied ordinance changes to allow the animal. The amendment would have expanded the areas of the city where the pigs are allowed.

The Boettcher  family owns a pig named "Looie" and asked the council to approve the ordinance change. Cindy Boettcher says they have not received any complaints and say "Looie" is a family member.

The city was alerted after "Looie" escaped his pen and was found rummaging through the neighborhood twice in the past year.

The council voted unanimously to deny expanding the area where the animals are allowed within the city.

The Boettchers now have 30 days to decide whether to board "Looie" or find a home for him.
