MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campus is closed until noon because of severe winter weather.

The school says all classes scheduled to start before noon Monday are canceled. The campus will reopen at noon, and classes and other events regularly scheduled events will go on as planned.

The University of Minnesota, Fairview and other university clinics will stay open.

Snow emergencies have been declared in places including St. Paul, Mankato, Eden Prairie and Red Wing.

The National Weather Service says up to 13 inches had fallen in the Twin Cities by Sunday night, and light snow and freezing drizzle was expected to continue into Monday morning. The storm brought with it winds of 15 to 30 mph.
