Sleepy Eye School Open For Students To Grieve Crash Victims

SLEEPY EYE (AP) - Sleepy Eye High School will be open to students, despite a day off from classes.

School district administrators will open the school from 10 a.m. to noon Monday for students to gather and deal with the deaths of four young people killed in a Friday night car crash. Monday was scheduled as an in-service day for teachers.

Eighteen-year-old John Mangen and 20-year-old Tyler Hadley recently graduated from the high school. Caleb Quesenberry and Payton Adams, both 17, attended nearby high schools. Police say Adams' brother, 19-year-old Kansas Adams, was driving the car when it slid into the path of a pickup on an icy road near Sleepy Eye. Kansas is hospitalized in critical condition.

The State Patrol says the pickup driver and two children are hospitalized with non-critical injuries.
