Six Hour Standoff Near Big Lake After Man Threatens To Shoot Neighbor

BIG LAKE - A Big Lake man has been arrested after a six hour standoff.

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says the incident began at about 4:00 p.m. yesterday (Sunday) in the 17,400 block of 165th Street in Big Lake Township.

Forty-seven-year-old Daniel Barenburg was seen carrying a his shotgun toward his neighbor's home, after telling 911 dispatchers that he planned on shooting his neighbor. Barenburg then ran back to his home, where the standoff began.

Neighbors were evacuated.

Just before 10:00 p.m. Barenburg surrendered.
