ST. CLOUD - When you walk into the Knotty Pine Liquor store in east St. Cloud you'll notice something missing -- the liquor.

Owner Dennis Pursley says the application to renew his liquor license is tied-up in St. Paul, because of the state government shutdown.  That means, until the shutdown is over, he can't sell alcohol.

However, Pursley says he is still open, but he's just selling pop and cigarettes.

He says he's only making about $2 an hour and has had to lay-off all of his part-time employees.
