ST. CLOUD -- A 1920's classic comes to the Paramount Theatre stage this weekend as GREAT Theatre kicks off their 20th Anniversary season with "Singin' in the Rain."

Abby Schnobrich plays Lina Lamont in the performance. She says the show brings back some childhood memories.

"When I was little my aunt would take me to plays of movies on my birthday and I distinctly remember the very first play she took me too was Singin' in the Rain at the Paramount Theatre."

Jeff Anderson is the director for the show. He was when they talked about doing the show, there was only one way to truly do it justice.

"You can't really do the show without rain, so one of our biggest 'wow' factors is we are going to be having it rain on stage at the end of Act 1 and Act 2, and when it rains it pours."

About 500 gallons of water is expected to be used on a nightly basis.

The laughs, singing and rain open Friday at 7:30 p.m. with additional shows on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be found at the Paramount Theatre box office.
