Shirley M. DuChene, 87, St. Cloud

January 28, 1929 - February 28, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, for Shirley M. DuChene, age 87 of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend LeRoy Sheierl will officiate. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Urbank, Minnesota.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Church. Parish prayers will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Shirley was born on January 27, 1929 in Faribault, Minnesota to Benjamin and Viola (Young) Shanahan. She married Donald F. DuChene on May 16, 1953 in Faribault. Early in her life she worked various jobs. When she was married and had children, she became a wonderful homemaker and mother. Shirley was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Christian Women, the Red Hatters, and the 1929 club.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, traveling, cooking, and living at the lake. Shirley especially treasured all the time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her children, Robert (Kathleen) of Anoka, Richard (Karen) of Otsego, Brian (Sheri) of Sauk Rapids, Bradley (Kim) of St. Cloud, Michelle Lortz (Kurt Evavold) of Clearwater; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 1985; infant sister, Beverly; brothers, Stanley and Wayne.
