Sheriff Warns of Phone Scam

LONG PRAIRIE – There’s another phone scam you need to be aware of.

The Todd County Sheriff’s Department says a man known as Gerald White is running a Jamaican Trip scam.  He appears to have a Jamacian-style accent.  He calls homes and tells residents to go to their local Walmart store and put money on a credit card.  The man then calls them back and tells them they won a contest for the Publishers Clearing House $1 million dollar sweepstakes, or they have the option to take a free round trip to Jamaica.

The Sheriff’s Office advises you not to fall for this scam.  If they contact you call the Sheriff’s Office at (320) 732-2157.
