WARREN, Minn. (AP) - Sheriff's officials say a couple from northwestern Minnesota has been killed in the crash of a small plane in Canada.

Marshall County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jon Tinnes says James and Gloria Holte were flying to Alaska to vacation when their plane crashed in British Columbia Monday. Tinnes says the couple's plane crashed after they made a stop in Alberta about 9 a.m.

Reports say the sheriff's office got a call from Canadian Search and Rescue asking deputies to check to see if the couple was home in Grygla, about 60 miles from Warren.

Tinnes says authorities in British Columbia later recovered the couple's bodies from the crash site.
