Sheriff: Body Of Missing Plymouth Kayaker Apparently Found
PLYMOUTH (AP) — Searchers have found a body believed to be that of a kayaker who went missing on a Plymouth lake over the weekend.
The Hennepin County sheriff's office says the body was recovered around 3 p.m. Monday in 10 feet of water about 100 yards from shore in Medicine Lake.
According to the sheriff's office, 31-year-old Paul Myklebust was last seen about 2 a.m. Saturday, when he left a party to go on the lake. Myklebust and a friend got into a kayak that eventually overturned. The other person was able to get safely to shore.
A boater called 911 at about 7:45 a.m. Saturday alerting authorities to an overturned kayak on the northwest side of the lake.
The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will confirm the body's identity.
