Sheriff Appoints Jon Lentz as Stearns County Chief Deputy

ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmunson has chosen Jon Lentz as his Chief Deputy.

Lentz has been with the Stearns County Sheriff's Office since 1991. He started out as a Correctional Officer, was promoted to Deputy Sheriff in 1997, Sergeant in 2003, Lieutenant in 2007 and finally Lentz was promoted to Captain in 2016.

Lentz is from St. Cloud. He is married and has two children. He also is a St. Cloud State University graduate and serves as a deacon with Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids.

The Chief Deputy position became available after former Chief Deputy Bruce Bechtold resigned last month.
