ZIMMERMAN — An assault call at a Sherburne County residence ended with the bust of a marijuana growing operation.

Sheriff’s officials were called to the home on 254th Avenue Northwest in Livonia Township at about 9:30 Wednesday night. Officers say as they were interviewing the people involved in the assault and witnesses, they learned of a marijuana growing operation.

Police got a search warrant and allegedly found 30 marijuana plants, packaged marijuana and other items used in growing the plants.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 35-year-old Jacob Knapik of Zimmerman on drug possession and drug sale charges.
