Service Saturday For Teen Who Died in Fire Escape Fall
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A memorial service will be held this weekend in Minneapolis for a teenage boy who fell to his death from a fire escape.
Kevin Fannin said Thursday his 16-year-old son, Blake Fannin, died Sunday after falling four stories from an Uptown condominium building about a block from where he lived with his mother.
Fannin tsays the fire escape appeared to be in need of maintenance.
He says his son and another teenage friend were apparently exploring when Blake stepped out on the fire escape, the ladder swung out and he fell.
A service is scheduled Saturday at First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis. Blake attended Minneapolis Southwest High School.
