MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Civil court proceedings are on hold in the wrongful death lawsuit against former Minnesota Viking Joe Senser and his wife.

Hennepin District Judge Bruce Peterson ordered that neither side may gather evidence while the criminal investigation continues.

The judge granted the request by Sensers' attorney, Brian Wood, to stay the proceedings until Feb. 6.

Amy Senser was charged last month with criminal vehicular homicide operation. Prosecutors allege she hit 38-year-old Anousone Phanthavong of Roseville on a freeway ramp as he was putting gas into his car.

Amy Senser maintains she didn't know she struck Phanthavong.

Before the judge's order, the attorney for Phanthavong's family, had planned to take depositions, including from the Sensers and their daughters. He vows to appeal.
