ST. CLOUD - State Senator John Pederson has announced that he is dropping out of the race of the Sixth Congressional District.

Pederson says "the priorities in my life have always been my faith, family, friends, and co-workers.  It has become apparent to me that I cannot continue this campaign and still balance my other priorities in life."

Pederson says he'll continue to serve Senate District 14 in the Minnesota State Legislature.

Three Republican candidates remain in the race: Tom Emmer, Phil Krinkie, and Rhonda Sivarajah.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann announced last spring that she was not seeking re-election for the seat.
