Senate Office Building Up Before Rules Committee
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Republicans and Democrats are sparring over a new office building for state senators.
The House Rules Committee is taking up an issue that has simmered through the session.
Republicans have portrayed the proposed $93.5 million building as too lavish for taxpayers to bear.
An alternate plan would cost $76.8 million. House Majority Leader Erin Murphy says she expects the committee to approve the lower-cost option.
