Semi Driver Dies After Truck Goes into Plowed Field

ST. JOSEPH – A semi driver died after driving the vehicle into a field.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department says the incident happened at about 7:00 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning on County Road 2 in St. Joseph Township.

A witness called dispatch saying the semi they were following left the road, and went into a plowed field.  The witness, and a Cold Spring officer, got the driver out of the semi and started CPR.  He was then taken to St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

The semi driver is a 68-year-old man from Gonvick, Minnesota.  His name has not been released.
