CHICAGO (AP) -  The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a man who died after falling into the Chicago River.

Twenty-six-year-old Ken Hoang from St. Paul, Minn., was trying to retrieve a cellphone he'd dropped on the ice when he fell into the water early Monday morning.

Investigators say he jumped a downtown fence to reach the river. Authorities pulled him from the water but he died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Two friends tried to help him and also fell in. One of them, a 23-year-old man, was hospitalized.

The other, a 21-year-old woman, is still missing. Police divers are resuming the search for her Tuesday.
