SCTCC Announces Name For New Veterans Center

ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud Technical and Community College has announced the name of its new veterans' center.

After public voting, the center will be named the Homefront Resource Center, a center for service members, veterans and their families. The new center will be in the former CentraCare Heartland building.

SCTCC President Joyce Helens says having " Homefront" in the name was highly preferred by voters.

"Homefront seemed to be that unifier that said 'we're coming back home' and the college is saying we're a home for you."

The steering committee felt the name has these attributes:

• Crosses serivce branches
• Is a unifier
• Is all-inclusive
• Resource Center was preferred by voters over Rally Point
