ST. LOUIS, MO. -- The St. Cloud State Huskies wrestling team has won the NCAA Division II National Championship for the first time in school history.

The Huskies finished in first place at the national tournament in St. Louis with a final tally of 84.5 points -- eight points ahead of the second place finishers.

Freshman 125-pounder Tim Prescott won an individual championship and 285-pounder Austin Goergen finished second in his weight class.

Clint Poster and Gabe Fogarty each placed third in the tournament at 157- and 165-pounds, respectively, and Mike Rhone placed fifth.

The championship is a testament of the job head coach Steve Costanzo has done, building a talented and successful program in his nine years at SCSU.
