ST. CLOUD - A majority of Minnesotans seem to be happy with our state. That's according to the results of a recent St. Cloud State University survey.

Fifty-eight percent of the survey's respondents think the state is headed in the right direction, as opposed to 25 percent who see it as going in the wrong direction. This is the highest percentage of Minnesotans who see the state as being on the right track in the past 13 years.

As for how Minnesotans felt about presidential candidates, of those who identify as Republican 26 percent supported Ben Carson, 16 percent back Donald Trump, and 40 percent support someone else or were undecided.

In the Democratic race, 53 percent of Democrats support Hillary Clinton, and 33 percent favor Bernie Sanders.

Responses for the survey were gathered from 623 randomly selected landline and cellphone users October 12th through the 22nd.
