ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud State University has received a grant for nearly $300,000 to help first-generation college students.

The grant from the "Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation" will support low-income students, who are the first in their family to attend college.

SCSU is one of 28 organizations sharing a total of $4.5 million.

St. Cloud State will use the money to hire three program coordinators who will tutor, mentor and advise the students.
