ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud State University is preparing to host a national VEX U robotics competition tomorrow (Saturday) from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.

Eleven college teams from Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska and Minnesota will compete at the SCSU campus for a spot in the VEX World Competition in Louisville, Kentucky this April.

Saturday will be the first time SCSU will host this national competition and it will be free and open to the public. The day starts at 10:00 a.m. judging followed by an opening ceremony scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Qualifying rounds then run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by the finals.

This is the second time in just over a month when St. Cloud is the center for a VEX robotics competition, as the River's Edge Convention Center hosted the state high school competition in January.
