The St. Cloud State men’s basketball team split a pair of NSIC contests this weekend, defeating Wayne State 70-66 Friday before falling 89-74 at Augustana Saturday.

Friday night’s game was highlighted by the Huskies’ Demarius Cruz and Theo Rothstein each scoring 16 points. SCSU (16-4, 12-4) never trailed by more than a single point in the game.

Cruz had another big night on Saturday for the Huskies with 18 points on 6-10 shooting from beyond the arc, but it wasn’t enough for SCSU. The Huskies led the Vikings by two points at the half but were outscored 48-31 in the second half by Augustana.

Of note, St. Cloud Cathedral graduate Joe Burt scored 15 points for the Vikings in the win.
