ST. CLOUD -- One of the world's largest trivia contests in set to kick off this weekend, as St. Cloud State will hold its 36th annual Trivia Weekend.

Hundreds of volunteers - ranging from students, to alumni, to members of the community - will volunteer over the course of the competition that has nearly 60 teams from all over the world participating for 50 consecutive hours in the event.

Trivia Weekend features a different theme every year and this year's is "Game of Trivia" - a parody of the HBO series "Game of Thrones" and a theme that Jo McMullen-Boyer believes was a huge draw this year.

McMullen-Boyer is the Station Manager for KVSC and has been involved with Trivia Weekend since her college days at St. Cloud State. She says she has noticed the event evolve over the years.

McMullen-Boyer says Trivia Weekend is a fun and exciting event for all involved while also being a valuable learning experience for students involved in KVSC and campus television station, UTVS.

Trivia Weekend has become a tradition in its 30-plus years and McMullen-Boyer says she looks forward to reuniting with the people who make the event memorable.

If you are interested in participating in KVSC's Trivia Weekend, there is still time to sign up - team registration ends at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday).  If you want to volunteer, McMullen-Boyer says she welcomes the help and encourages anybody interested to check it out.
