ST. CLOUD -- A support group is being formed to help those who have trouble communicating, or verbalizing their thoughts, due to physical or neurological conditions.

St. Cloud State University will be holding the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) support group on Thursday, August 8th at 7:00 p.m.

Kristen Weidner, a St. Cloud State graduate student, helped organized the support group and says the first meeting will be mostly informative.

Weidner says they have several clients that use AAC, and this group is a way for them to network with others.

Symbol boards, sign language, or electronic devices are other forms this group with focus on, as opposed to verbal speech.

The main goal for the support group, is to provide a network they can have out in the community.

The group will meet in room 119, in Brown Hall, on the campus of St. Cloud State University.
