SCSU Football Wins Season Opener

The St. Cloud State football team won their season opener 26-3 at California, Pennsylvania Thursday night.  SCSU is ranked #13 in the latest NABC Division II poll while California is ranked #12.  Phil Klaphake threw for 201 yards and a touchdown with 1 interception and he ran for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns for St. Cloud State.

Damon Treat had 5 catches for 56 yards and a touchdown and Brandon Geiss had 11 carries for 71 yards for SCSU.  Cody Nuzzo had 2 field goals for the Huskies.

St. Cloud State led 13-0 at halftime.  SCSU will host Concordia-St. Paul at 6pm Saturday September 10 in their home opener.
