SCSU MEN'S COMEBACK FALLS SHORT

A second half rally came up short for the SCSU men's team in their 85-81 loss to the Mustangs.

The Huskies trailed by 17 points with 15 minutes remaining in the game before going on a 23-10 run to trim the lead to four but could not completely close the gap.

SCSU guard Jordan Poydras continued his strong season, scoring 26 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out seven assists.

James Fort and Chuckie Smith also reached double-digits, scoring 15 and 13 points respectively.

But the Huskies could not stop Mankato's star forward Assem Marei as the 6'9" Egyptian scored 32 points and pulled down 15 rebounds.

With the loss, the Huskies fall to 7-6 on the season and will travel to St. Paul to take on Concordia University tonight at 6:00 p.m.
