SCSU Baseball Downs Upper Iowa Twice

The St. Cloud State baseball team downed Upper Iowa in Fayette, Iowa Wednesday afternoon twice 9-1 and 10-5.  In game 1 SCSU was led by Garrett Fischer going 4-4 with 4 runs scored and 1 RBI and Logan Birr threw 6 innings with 5 hits and 1 earned run to get the win for SCSU.  Birr sets a school record for wins in the season with 9.

In game 1 Phil Imholte, Travis Cariveau and Mike Jurgella each hit a homerun for SCSU in game 2 and Austin Bosch allowed 5 earned runs in 7 1/3 innings to get the win.  SCSU has won 13 straight and is 38-10 overall and 22-6 in the NSIC.  SCSU hosts Augustana this Saturday.
