ST. CLOUD - Teachers in most Minnesota school districts are working without a contract.  Only about 100 of the state's 331 districts have settled contracts so far.

Mary Broderick is the President of the St. Cloud Education Association.  She says they've had few talks with St. Cloud school board members so far.

There's no longer a state-imposed deadline of January 15th.  The St. Cloud school district missed that deadline each of the last two negotiating sessions, which cost the district a financial penalty.

The contracts for the teachers ran out on July 1st of last year.
