SAUK RAPIDS - Sauk Rapids-Rice High School is in the process of giving each of its students a laptop to use for class.

Sauk Rapids-Rice High School principal Erich Martens says the laptops will help every student have more access to information for their education.

The High School is currently testing the laptops in certain classrooms. The goal is to give every student a laptop by December.

Sauk Rapids also hopes to eventually give devices to its middle and elementary schools. The district wants to make technology a part of everyday education.

Laptops will be free for students unless they want to take it home with them after school. Students would then have to pay a $60 technology fee to cover potential costs for damages to the laptops.
