SAUK RAPIDS -- Are the residents of Sauk Rapids and Rice willing to raise their own taxes for school district programs?  The school board will go over the results of a survey on the issue, during their meeting tonight (Monday).

Superintendent Dan Bittman says the Sauk Rapids-Rice district is one of only 36 districts in the entire state that doesn't currently have an operating levy, to help balance their budget.

Bittman says their e-mail survey had about 27 questions.  They received 1,000 responses.

The school board is expected to make a decision on whether to pursue an operating levy in either May or June.
