SAUK RAPIDS -- Sauk Rapids Police have arrested a 46-year-old man on several charges after a traffic stop early this morning, led to a foot chase and search.

An officer made a traffic stop just after 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Benton Drive North and Highway 15. Police say the driver, Dean Gangl, formerly of Richmond jumped out of the car and ran into a neighborhood.

Officers set up a perimeter around the area and brought in a police dog to help in the search. Gangl was found and arrested.

Gangl was treated at St. Cloud Hospital for minor injuries suffered in the incident before being taken to jail.

He was arrested on a felony warrant for terroristic threats, domestic assault and fleeing police in a motor vehicle and booked into the Stearns County Jail.

Benton County authorities will charge Gangl by long form complaint with driving after suspension and fleeing on foot charges.

A passenger in the vehicle, 32-year-old Jenny Freese was released at the scene.
