Sauk Rapids Man Arrested After Police Chase

ST. CLOUD -- A Sauk Rapids man faces several charges after leading police on a chase Tuesday night.

Officers tried to stop 53-year-old William Diedrich in the 100 block of East St. Germain just before 11:00 p.m. when Diedrich allegedly accelerated. Police were able to stop and arrest Diedrich a short time later.

Gold Cross Ambulance treated Diedrich at the scene for minor injuries and he was taken to the Benton County Jail on charges of felony fleeing police, second degree DUI, 2nd degree DUI within two hours, driving after cancellation, stop sign violation and failure to display a license plate.
