SAUK RAPIDS - Sauk Rapids hosted its 6th annual Parade of Lights festival today, a parade featuring floats decked out in any Christmas lights imaginable.

The parade ran through 2nd Avenue in downtown Sauk Rapids. With Christmas right around the corner, floats in this festival didn't hold back in showing off their holiday spirit.

Police and firefighters also took part in the parade, the Sauk Rapids fire department accepted donations for its Toys for Tots drive during the event.

Even with the cold weather, hundreds of family and community members gathered for this unique and fun way to get into the holiday spirit.

"My heart swells that the city of Sauk Rapids and the citizens come out to support us every single year," Festival coordinator Ellen Thronson says.
