SAUK RAPIDS - The 2013 Sauk Rapids Community Ambassador program was held this (Thursday) evening, part of the Rapids River Days festival.

Eleven young women competed on the stage at the Sauk Rapids-Rice high school for three crowns.  New this year, all three winning candidates are considered equal ambassadors for Sauk Rapids, and gone away are the old titles of Queen and two Princesses.

This year's winning Ambassadors are: Alisha Houdek, Ali Mohr, and Lindsay Massman. All three will represent the city of Sauk Rapids at various events and festivals around the state over the next year.  They each also receive a $1,000 scholarship.  The money is donated by the Sauk Rapids Lions Club.

They were judged in five catagories: poise and personality in an interview, an essay question, volunteerism, evening gown, and the on stage impromptu question.

Breanne Johnson won the Evening Gown award, and wins $200. Ali Mohr also won the Miss Congeniality award, and won another $200.

Rapids River Days continues tomorrow (Friday) with the parade at 6:00 p.m..  Tanner's Team 5K run is saturday morning, followed by the Food Fest in the park on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
