SAUK RAPIDS -- The Sauk Rapids City Council has selected an architectural firm and a construction manager for the new City Hall.

During Monday night's meeting the council chose Hagemeister Mack to design the building, they'll be paid just over $215,000 for their services. The construction manager while the building is being built will be R.A. Morton, they'll be paid a base fee of just over $256,000.

The City Council also took steps to move-up the closing date on the sale of their current building. Semper Development has asked that the closing happen as early as next week, instead of waiting until December 31st. City staff will still be able to stay in the building until February 1st without having to pay rent.

One item that did NOT happen during the meeting, was the selection of the location for the new facility. City Administrator Ross Olson asked for more time, before bringing it to the council for a vote. The site selection is expected to either happen at the next regularly scheduled meeting, or possible a special council meeting.
