SAUK RAPIDS - The Sauk Rapids city council got a progress report on the plan to build a community field house.

Murray Mack of hma Architects presented four options to the council during this (Monday) evening's meeting.  All four options would have the facility built next to the high school, however Mack says there's been little school district involvement up to this point.

After the presentation each of the council members expressed a wish to hear from the school board, and the superintendent, on where they sit on this project.

The total cost of the project could be in the neighborhood of $7 million to $10 million, with an additional $1 1/2 to $2 million if the Field House is connected to the school.

The city is expected to use half-cent sales tax dollars for their portion of the project, which is still probably a few years away from getting underway.
