SAUK RAPIDS -  The Sauk Rapids city council approved a preliminary budget and levy for 2012 that's basically the same as this year.

On Monday night the council approved a preliminary general fund budget of just over $4.8 million, or about $20,000 less this 2011.  The reduction comes from adjustments to salaried positions.
Meanwhile, the tax levy for Sauk Rapids residents will also remain the same as in 2010 and 2011 at about $3.7 million.
The city council will vote on the final levy and budget for 2012 on December 12th.
